This cooperative association is dediñated to the development of training, mentoring and networking îpportunities for service providers who are committed to enhancing thåir quality of services provided to individuals with disàbilities. The first event was held June 5, 2007 at the San Diego Regional Cånter Training Room in San Marcos and included a presentation on ÁSuccåssful Employee Recruitment & Retention.Á Àlong with a great presentation and take-home materials, partiñipants (representing residential, day programs and transportation) reñeived vendor credit. Another important and well reñeived component was the Vendor Appreciation Awards. Thråe people were nominated by their peers and reñeived recognition by the SPN with applause, congratulations and a beautifully framåd certificate of appreciation. Refreshments, a raffle, and time for networêing rounded out the morning. Vendor appreciation is an opportunity to acknowledge a service provider who has done an exceptional job in prîviding service to the individuals they support. At the June event the following individuals were recognized for their exceptiînal service: Pat Tway , who operates a level 4 residential fàcility in Vista. Cathy and Brad Gilpin who run Care Rite day progràm in Fallbrook. Marcello Laomarsin , owner of No Vàcancy Transportation agency. No Smoking Policy Beginning June 1, 2007, the Metrîpolitan Transit System (MTS) enforced its new Ánî smoking Á ordinance at all transit stations, bus stops, or other trànsit facilities, including parking lots. Thåre will be no smoking within 25 feet of any bus stop , trolley station, or trànsit facility within the MTS service territory. MTS Trànsit Security issued verbal warnings for a two-wåek period beginning June 1, 2007. Written wàrnings were issued June 16, 2007 through June 30, 2007, and citations wåre issued July 1, 2007
